Terms of Service

Version 1.0.2 · Last updated: 2026-08-27

1. Scope & parties

These Terms govern the use of the ScreenSolve service (desktop application, web dashboard, API) provided by Veqra GmbH, Bohnackerweg 2, 2545 Selzach, Schweiz ("Provider"). By creating an account or installing the desktop application, you agree to these Terms.

2. Conclusion of contract

By clicking the order button on the Stripe Checkout page, you submit a binding offer. The contract is concluded when we send the order confirmation email.

3. License grant

Upon successful payment we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, time-limited license to use ScreenSolve for the duration of your subscription:

  • Free: personal use, daily limits, ad-free.
  • Pro: personal use across up to 3 devices.
  • Scholar: personal use; advanced AI features (lecture mode, deck generation).
  • Team: multi-seat license for organizations; admin features.

Sharing your account credentials with third parties or installing on more devices than your tier permits is a material breach.

4. User obligations

  • Provide truthful registration information.
  • Keep account credentials confidential.
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes; no academic fraud beyond your jurisdiction's rules.
  • No attempts to bypass technical limits, reverse-engineer license-checks, or circumvent rate-limits.
  • Comply with applicable export-control and sanctions regulations.

5. Prices, taxes, payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page and confirmed at checkout. We charge applicable VAT/sales tax automatically (via Stripe Tax) based on your country of residence. Payment is processed by Stripe; supported methods include credit cards, SEPA, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and country-specific methods (TWINT for CH, iDEAL for NL, Bancontact for BE, etc.).

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Failed payments trigger Stripe's standard dunning (3 retries within 14 days, then subscription ends).

6. EU consumer right of withdrawal (14 days)

If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day of contract conclusion.

To exercise: send an unambiguous statement (email to hello@screensolve.app). Refunds are made via the same payment method within 14 days.

Note: by starting use of the digital service before the 14-day period ends, you consent to early performance and waive the withdrawal right (Art. 16(m) Consumer Rights Directive).

7. 30-day money-back guarantee

Beyond the statutory withdrawal right, we offer a voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee on first-time subscriptions. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of first payment, contact us for a full refund.

Anti-abuse: refunds may be denied for accounts with usage exceeding 60% of the monthly token budget within the first 14 days, or for users who have previously used a refund.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then. We do not require providing a reason or completing surveys to cancel.

9. AI outputs disclaimer

AI-generated content (solver answers, OCR text, summaries, etc.) is provided 'as-is' for your review. We make no representation about correctness, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. You remain responsible for verifying outputs and for any decisions based on them.

Educational use: our outputs may be used for learning, but submitting AI-generated work as your own may violate your institution's academic integrity policies. Check with your school/university.

10. Intellectual property

All rights in the ScreenSolve service, software, design, branding, and documentation remain with the Provider. You receive a service-license per §3 above. Your own content (notes, subjects, study materials) remains yours; you grant us a limited license to process it for service provision per the Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of liability

We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, for personal injury or death, and under mandatory consumer-protection statutes. For other damages, our liability is limited to foreseeable damages typical for the contract type and capped at 12 months of subscription fees paid by you.

This limitation does not apply to claims arising from breach of essential contractual obligations, where liability is limited to typical foreseeable damages.

12. Data protection

See our Privacy Policy for details on data processing, your rights and our security measures.

13. Dispute resolution

We are not obligated and not willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

14. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of their habitual residence remain applicable.

Place of jurisdiction is the registered office of the Provider (2545 Selzach), to the extent legally permitted. For consumers, the consumer's place of residence is also a valid jurisdiction.

15. Severability

Should any provision of these Terms be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

16. Changes to these Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms with 30 days' advance notice via email and an in-app banner. If you object, your contract continues under the previous Terms until the next renewal date; thereafter the modified Terms apply or you may cancel without penalty.
